Best Oral & Poster Presentation Awards


We are delighted to announce that this year we will award the best student talk and poster presented at the conference. The Best student presentation prize will be awarded to the best contributed talk and to the best talk or poster presented at the conference. The talk or poster must be produced and presented by a student. The prize jury consists of members of UL SPIE. The winners of the prize will be announced during the award ceremony at the end of the conference.



Evaluation criteria for oral presentations

General
  • Presentation structure and coherent information
  • Ability to answer the questions
  • Adherence to time limits
Content
  • Clearly stated research problem
  • Context and importance of research demonstrated
  • Results clearly interpreted
  • Conclusions correspond to problem
Visuals
  • Clear layout, not overcrowded
  • Readability (font, size, style)
  • Legible figures conveying results effectively
Performance                            
  • Smooth transition from issue to issue
  • Engagement with audience (e.g. eye contact)
  • Enthusiastic and inspirational performance

  • Coherent poster layout
  • Ability to answer the questions
Content
  • Clearly stated research problem
  • Context and importance of research demonstrated
  • Results clearly interpreted
  • Conclusions correspond to problem
Visuals
  • Clear layout, not overcrowded
  • Readability (font, size, style, words can be read from an appropriate distance (0.8-1.6 m))
  • Legible figures conveying results effectively
